Pareidolia
Note, psychosis should not be confused with pareidolia.
Auditory pareidolia is the perception of meaningful sounds, such as voices or music, in random noise such as static or sound of rain. This happens when the brain tries to make sense of ambiguous or random sounds, leading to the perception of familiar patterns such as music or voices.
The steady noise from the fan or air conditioner can create a background that the brain interprets as something familiar, like voices or music. It’s a common occurrence and is not necessarily indicative of any underlying issue. This is amplified if you are close to being asleep or relaxation.
Auditory pareidolia is an experience created when the brain incorrectly interprets random patterns as being familiar patterns. This is commonly see in ‘EVP’ where static or random sounds could result in an observer interpreting the random noise as being the familiar sound of a human voice.
The propensity for an apparent voice heard in white noise recordings to be in a language understood well by those researching it, rather than in an unfamiliar language, has been cited as evidence of this, and a broad class of phenomena referred to by author Joe Banks as Rorschach Audio has been described as a global explanation for all manifestations of EVP.
Beyond sounds, the human brain has a tendency to see patterns and to make connections, attempting to make sense of chaotic sensory data. Pareidolia is the term used to refer to that.. Seeing faces is very common and scientists speculate this is linked to evolutionary conditions.
Most humans have experienced seeing shapes or faces in clouds, walls, wooden doors and wood grains, textured ceilings, tree trunks or mountains.

It is also important to practice discernment, in order to not discount all patterns, observations, or voices as Pareidolia or a hallucination, or conversely to hyper-fixate on them. You will get more of what you: focus on, resist, think about, feel strongly emotional about, or worry about.
Focus on balance and healthy, positive, empowering thoughts and actions.
It is important to acknowledge that many cultures and spiritual practices accept, or expect, the hearing of voices.
You are not the thoughts, or voices, you experience. However, the thoughts you end up accepting become a part of your reality and decisions.
The ultimate test is asking ‘how does this impact my life and reality?’. Work with a mental health therapist or a competent person to explore the impact of voices on the quality of your life.
